James H. Herndon, M.D.

Dr. James H. Herndon attended Harvard University as an undergraduate and earned his M.D. degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. After training in internal medicine and dermatology, he served as a research associate at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.

Next he joined the faculty of Southwestern Medical School where he taught and did research until he entered private practice. He remains active in clinical research and teaching both as a Clinical Professor at Southwestern, chief of the section at Presbyterian Hospital, and by serving as a consultant and clinical investigator for companies working on the development of new drugs and cosmetics. As supplements to their medical training, students, residents, and other trainees often ask to see patients with him. His special clinical interests include cosmetic procedures for improvement of wrinkles, skin pigmentation and other signs of aging, treatment of adult as well as teenage acne, and treatment of disorders of hair and nails.
